During these visits, colleagues learned more about different faiths, traditions and customs. There was also plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share personal stories and talk openly with one another.
By going out together, conversations arose about topics that do not always naturally come up in the workplace. These gatherings led to open discussions, new insights and meaningful connections. They also created greater understanding of each other’s backgrounds and of the diversity of perspectives within our organisation.

Differences became easier to understand and similarities became more visible. In this way, we learn not only about religion or culture, but above all about the colleague behind the story. At Meijers, this is how we strengthen our connection with one another.

Getting to know your colleagues better helps build mutual understanding. That is why, as part of the Get to know your colleagues initiative, we organised visits to a mosque, church and synagogue.
