Insurance for a sustainable economy
Meijers assists clients by advising them on insurance policies that facilitate the energy transition. In addition to advising on the necessary insurance coverage and, by extension, on the best terms and price, Meijers can, at the client's request, take the insurer's sustainability into account in its advice. Think of a collective pension scheme, for example. If a customer has taken sustainable measures that also lower their risk profile, Meijers makes sure these are included in the insurer's premium calculation, to help with the transition to a sustainable economy.

Total
2,938 tons

Scope 3 - 2.771 t

Scope 3 includes all indirect emissions, with purchased goods and services (via suppliers, such as IT) and employee commuting making up the largest share.

Scope 2 - 0 t

Scope 1 includes direct CO2 emissions resulting from heating the building and from lease cars that run on fossil fuels.

Scope 2 covers electricity consumption. Since Meijers purchases all its electricity from renewable sources, the CO2 emissions from this are zero.

Scope 1 - 167 t

We are taking
steps towards
a climate-neutral future

Concrete measures for sustainability
We have developed a clear step-by-step plan to significantly reduce our CO2 emissions:

Meijers aims to operate fully climate neutral by 2035 in scope 1 and 2 (direct CO2 emissions and energy consumption). In addition, we strive to be climate neutral in scope 3 (indirect emissions across the entire value chain) by 2050. This means we are actively making our operations more sustainable and working together with partners and suppliers to minimise our shared impact.

Emissions in tonnes of CO₂ equivalent (2023)

With these initiatives, we not only reduce our CO2 emissions, but also lower energy costs and strengthen our resilience to future macroeconomic developments.
